Pam started designing jewelry as a hobby.  She discovered Etsy and decided she would start selling her jewelry.  Pam loves to incorporate Swarovski crystals in each one of her designs in her words, "because of the intricate colors which when reflected in the sunlight makes each piece unique". 

When you shop at Magdalene Jewels you will find and array of necklaces, earrings, bracelets and even pieces for that very special day...a wedding.

In this piece she designed a beautiful necklace using another wonderful artisans polymer clay yellow flower created by ZudaGray.  This necklace is like looking at sunshine.

If you see something that you like and need it to be a different color or length, she is more than willing to custom design your piece to the way you want it.

 So Pam does not only make jewelry...she quilts,  knits and crochets from baby items to neck warmers.

Vicki of Dizzy Dragonflies

Vicki is a very busy woman indeed.  She manages two Etsy shops Dizzy Dragonflies and Knitting Dragonflies.  She's been a longtime knitter.

Vicki loves to be creative that she recently discovered spinning and roving.



But she didn't stop there, she started hand dyeing yarn...which she has some very beautiful dyed yarn.

Theresa of TiLTcreations

Congratulations!  She also was our WINNER in our January blog giveaway!  Let me tell you a little bit about Theresa, she's a stay at home mother of two (a teenager and a toddler), which she says, "makes life rather interesting"...I'm so sure.  She's been sewing and crafting for years and enjoys sharing them with others.

Theresa's first love was drawing and painting.  She studied art history in college, and hopes to someday combine her two passions in to one. 

Each one of her hand bags are one of kind, it might be the same style but a different fabric or maybe a different embellishment on it.  She also takes custom orders, so if you have a preference or idea I'm sure she'd love to take on the challenge.

Nico Designs

Erica is the creator of Nico Designs, she strives to create handbags that are eco friendly by utilizing a combination of new, re-purposed, recycled or up-cycled materials.  She either uses her scrap/remnants in other projects or donates them to keep them from our landfill, which is a plus in my books...Go GREEN!  Erica was a Behavior Specialist and Special Education Teacher for years, but has had two babies and may I say a year apart from one another...wow!  So now she sews for "sanity"...LOL!  Here are a few of her items you can find in her shop...

January 15 - Blog Carnival

In 2010, Carrie and I are working on our marketing strategies, getting a little more organized and creating....creating....creating.  We're talking about revamping our jewelry line by designing our own line of pendants made from PMC and Copper. Also be sure to check in on our Yoga Fairy shop, we will be changing the wings on our adorable little fairies, we're very excited about that too. We have a lot of ideas for this year that are still in the talk phases, but will soon be put in to action.

We hope to accomplish twice as much as we did last year.   We want to do more craft shows and we're looking forward to being a part of the Renaissance Festival again this year.  We learned a lot from last year and will be doing things a little bit differently on how we'll be setting up our booth.  We're taking other vendors advice and just things we realized would've been better and we should have a spectacular booth...not that our other booth wasn't awesome because we did get a lot of people telling us they loved our booth. 

Overall, we'll be concentrating on organization, creating, networking and helping out wherever we can.

We hope that each and everyone has a prosperous New Year and keep creating!

EtsyBloggers Carnival....

So we had a choice to choose between what our plans are to bring in the year 2010 or our New Year's past.  Well I'm going to talk a little bit about both...this year our "plans" were to meet up with some good friends in Reno, NV at the Peppermill Hotel & Casino to bring in 2010, but unfortunately my father had passed away and we had to head back to my home state of Texas for a funeral.  So for New Year's Eve we were on the road back to Las Vegas (where I currently live).  We spent it driving through 4 different states and 3 different time zones, a first for us...LOL!  A nice little snow storm came through which made the roads a little slippery.  We saw a rollover and Charlie (being a retired firefighter) pulled over and assisted the people.  Thank goodness nobody was hurt.  We stayed until more help arrived.  We made it home about an hour or so before midnight, just in time to strike up the fireplace and toast the New Year!

Etsy Blog Carnival is....

We had a choice between choosing between a December tradition from around the world or your favorite holiday recipe.  I've decided I'd try to learn of something new and look to see what kinds of traditions are celebrated around the world in December.  Wow, was I surprised of how many there really are besides the usual ones like Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and of course Christmas.

I found one I thought was interesting, St. Lucia Day.  This particular celebration takes place in Sweden, it's one of the biggest celebrations on December 13th.  The celebration comes from stories that were told my Monks who first brought Christianity to Sweden.

St. Lucia was a young Christian girl who was martyred, killed for her faith, in 304AD.  The most common story told about St. Lucia is that she would secretly bring food to the persecuted Christians in Rome, who lived in hiding in the catacombs under the city.  It was told she would wear candles on her head so she had both her hand free to carry things. 

December 13th was also the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year, and a pagan festival of lights in Sweden was turned into St. Lucia's Day.

It's now celebrated by girls dressing in a white dress with a red sash around her waist and a crown of candles on her head.  The crown is made of Lingonberry branches which are evergreen and symbolizes her new life in winter.

In homes often the eldest girl plays St Lucia for her family, bringing them "lussekatts", St Lucia's day buns flavored with saffron and dotted with raising which are eaten for breakfast.

St Lucia's Day first became widely celebrated in Sweden in the late 1700's.  St. Lucia's day is also celebrated in Denmark, Norway, Finland, Bosnia and Croatia.  In Denmark it is more of a children's day and in some parts of Italy, children are told the St Lucy brings them presents.

Two darling swallows are connected to a lovely amazonite quartz faceted oval bead. The pair is attached to an antiqued brass chain finished with round 6mm swarovski golden shadow crystals. The necklace measures approximately 18" long.
