Look what's arrived...

          Mad Hatter Tea Party Vase

Beelzebird Couple Sienna and Sage

and....
Nightmare Before Christmas - Mini Jack Skelley Snowman

My other creative side is well some would say "a little on the dark side".  I'm in business with a fabulous creative friend and we try to, for the most part, recycle items in our creations.  For instance, the mini Jack Skelley's are made from a string of lights that went bad and the Mad Hatter Tea Party Vase, is three vintage silver pieces from a mixed match tea set (2 sugar bowls and one creamer).  We had the bottoms drilled out of the top two and fused them all together to make this one of a kind vase...well we might make more if we find the right pieces.

I just wanted to share some of the other things I do.  I also take all the photos for our business and Carrie edits them.

Look what I won...

I was so excited to receive this fabulous mixed media collage art piece created by Erin of Art By Erin LeighI just had to take a picture of the envelope because it made me feel so fabulous...

now you know why it made me feel that way.  Isn't that just a "fabulous" way to address something special to someone...especially since you've never met.  Erin, thanks it truly did make me smile really big and I also showed it off to my friends and family...LOL!

Inside the envelope my prize was wrapped very beautifully with a lovely black and white ribbon...

and now for the actually mixed media collage...

Erin gave a choice of 6 different artistic collages she had made to choose from.  I chose this one, because it truly spoke to me.  I also felt if my son could see this on a daily basis, it will help remind him to continue to strive to be a better person.  I have it sitting on the family computer desk so it's there for all to see.  Next I'll need to find a frame for it.

You can see more of Erin's work on her blog and also in her Etsy shop artbyerinleigh.etsy.com

Thanks Erin for such a meaningful prize.

Bright blessings

Coming soon to Ametista Dark Decor....

At one the town's square teemed with life,
The second chime brought roil and strife,
When three rang forth the bell tower shook,
At four o'clock the devil cooked,
Five saw ashes cloud the light,
Six, the moon shone black as night,
The witch's cat shrieked loud at seven,
At eight dripped blooded rains from heaven,
Nine o'clock brings ghoulish cries,
And ten sees children's bulging eyes,
Eleven curses scour the fields,
When midnight chimes death's harvest yields,
Which leads us to the 13th hour,
Best go inside, the scene is dour!

Successful craft show...

We had so much fun and there was a great turn out as well.  We made a few connections and had many sales...so we'd say overall it was a successful event!

Unfortunately, we had to end an hour early due to winds, very cold rain and hail...yes hail!  I wish there were some pictures being taken of Carrie and I  hustling to take down our tent and pack everything up...I'm sure we looked like wet puppies...LOL.  Anyway, our newly painted event tent made it's debut...

Yes, we designed and painted this 10x10 tent ourselves...well we had a friend help a little bit :D...its good to have friends...thanks Laura!

A member (Robi Dunn) of our local Etsy group, HandmadeInVegas, put this fabulous event together...thanks!

We even had live music to entertain not only us, but the customers as well.

It was wonderful escaping the Las Vegas heat...even if it did end a little early!

Learning is fun....

...that is if Megan of Etsy's FFTF&B has anything to do with it. Megan's shop, "From Fragments To Furniture & Beyond"  is a shop for kids of all ages. She specializes in fun educational toys with special needs kids in mind and creates fun ways to encourage speech, motor skills and sensory stimulation. She also makes things for kids in general and those who are a kid at heart.

We are especially pleased to show of her latest project, these colorful numbered dominoes, not only because Megan is a fellow Handmade In Vegas Team member but because she commissioned a custom domino mold from our Clay Shoppe to craft these little lovelies.

Her entire store is an explosion of color and excitement and well worth checking out.
