Photo Art Friday

This weeks challenge is to use Pixel Dust Photo Art's fabulous free texture, "Dropped Petal" another one of PDPA's texture and use one or two images of your own/one you can get from the web for free.  You can as always use any photo art of your choice.

Here's my first attempt:

I started off with the texture, dropped petal and added my two photos, 1) leaves on a tree, 2) a church steeple, both at blending modes overlay anywhere from 85% - 100% (I can't remember).  I then added PDPA's texture "leafy landscape" blending mode overlay 100%.

I thought it needed a little something so I added another photo of mine 3) seagulls

using blending mode difference at approximately 95%.

 

It really changed the whole photo.  Here are the actually photos I used...

Photo Art Friday

Yeah...I made it!

I'm joining in on the fun over at Pixel Dust Photo Art for Photo Art Friday.  We have the choice of posting any piece of photo art we please or a piece with the theme "new life" (interpret anyway you wish). 

I cropped the picture just a bit (mainly because some of my hair fell in the shot).  I  edited this in Picmonkey using "Focal blend" to give it that funky focus and then I added Bonnie's "Happy Day" texture blending mode Multiply at 100%, lastly I added a vignette.

Texture Tuesday - The Felicity eDition

This week our challenge was to use Kim Klassen's free texture "Felicity".

Our weather, here in Las Vegas, has been so mild for a winter, that some of the trees are already blooming such beautiful flowers.  On my way to taking my son to school, I pass a park that is lined with these trees, (Yoshino Cherry trees).

I first softened the photo and added a chocolate brown filter at 52%, then I added the texture "felicity" Screen mode at about 85%, erased over the flowers at the opacity of 35%.  Then I added the quote.

Dream eDition

 

I didn't really have enough time to take a new picture, so I went in to my archives and dug this one out.

This was taken about 2 years ago during our trip to San Diego.  We bought our son a body board and let me tell you, he had a blast and was a natural on it.  Anyway, I thought this picture could be saying, "Dreaming of that next big wave".

The only thing I did with this photo was add Kim Klassen's texture "Dream", she so generously gave to us, using blending mode Overlay.
