A Cause Close to Our Hearts

Some of you may know that Carrie has a son with Autism. We are always on the look out for ideas to raise funds and awareness on behalf of Autism. This is a cause that is near and dear to our hearts.

We were contacted by "Autism Delaware", an organization of people with autism, families, friend, and professionals connected to the autism community. Their mission is to improve the lives of people with autism and that is something we wanted to be a part of.

We donated a one of a kind handmade Autism Awareness necklace. All proceeds from our "Clay for a Cause" section are donated to Autism Speaks. For more information on Autism and what you can do to help, please go to http://www.autismspeaks.org

This OOAK Autism Awareness necklace includes a stunning hand blown glass pendant in primary colors, flanked by faceted Cherry Quartz, primary colored glass, beautiful Mother of Pearl, finished with a lovely Sterling Silver toggle clasp and dangling Autism Awareness ribbon bead.

Clay Shoppe Customers being featured.....

Calling all "The Clay Shoppe" customers....

Its A New Day!

Yes, yes the inauguration, but ALSO we've opened a new shop on Etsy! It's called Yoga Fairies by Ametista . Already we've had good response and our first sale! Come check it out...before, during or after the "inauguration"...

Blog Carnival...

For this "Blog Carnival" we chose to write about what we're working on.

We are working on a "Custom Bottle" design. The customer requested we use a special bottle that she sent to us. She wants to use the bottle to put her "wishes" on little pieces of paper to put in the bottle. She gave us some colors that she'd like us to use and left the rest to our creative minds....scary! lol...

So we're off and running...so far we've gotten the top part of the bottle made. We wrapped it with transparent clay, then laid another layer of clay which is midnight blue with stars stamped out of it on top so the transparent clay will show through. We hand carved swirls all through the midnight blue clay and swirled pigment on as well.

Our plan is to make clouds out of different colors of blues and purples with swirls on them and add them to the bottom half of the bottle. The stopper will have stars shooting out of it. We can't wait until it's all done.

Well, we finally finished it...here is the final product!
