We can post any piece we feel is "photo art" or a piece using one of Bonnie's fabulous textures (click here to see them).
This week she asked us if we've ever just used a texture as your background...well a couple of weeks ago I was playing with that concept for a gift for my niece who just had a precious baby boy. She did his room up in old car signs and vintage looking red, white and blue colors.
This is what I came up with.
I first took a picture using scrabble tiles to spell out his name, then I laid it on top of a texture in PicMonkey.com. I added the "Route 66" sign as an overlay and then I added PDPA's texture "Faded Fresco" on blending mode Hardlight and erased any texture off of the lettering.
I'm still working on this to give to my niece. I'm going to have it printed out on metal and I can't wait to see what it will look like. Her twin sister is also expecting a baby boy, so I'm going to do one for her as well. I'm so excited...it's about time more boys were born in our family (I had the last one and he's 15).
